Easy 5 Ingredient Ribs

Easy fall of the bone, sticky ribs in under 45 minutes, with pantry staples- how magical is that? These soft and sticky ribs require just 5 pantry ingredients, and become fork tender in the instant pot in just 25 minutes. The ribs are great served straight from the instant pot, or they can be crisped up on the BBQ or in the air fryer. The simple prep make these ideal for an impromptu summer BBQ with friends- just get the ribs in your instant pot, and immediately light the coals. As the ribs emerge falling off the bone from the pot, pop them onto the now glowing BBQ coals to finish them off.  

We love our ribs served with jacket potatoes, with loads of chives and butter, and a light green salad.  

Ingredients: 

  • 130g tomato sauce
  • 2 Tbsp chipotle paste  
  • 60ml water
  • 85ml honey  
  • 70ml light soy sauce
  • 2 kg pork ribs 

Method: 

  1. Make the marinade by mixing together the tomato sauce, chipotle, water, honey and soy. Toss the ribs in the marinade, then place into the inner pot.
  2. Secure the lid, and select pressure cook. Set the time to 25 minutes, and leave the Instant Pot to do all the work for you. 
  3. When the cooking program finishes, perform a quick pressure release and either get ready for the grilling step, or leave the ribs in the Instant Pot on Keep Warm until you are ready to grill.
  4. Using either a gas or coal BBQ or your Air Fryer (on the grill function), cook the ribs until slightly charred and crisp, then serve immediately.
